Minneapolis Institute of Art, Minnesota Artist Exhibition Program
January 2019 – December 2020
Elected to serve a two-year term as a curatorial panelist for the museum dedicated to exhibiting and supporting artists living and working in Minnesota. An elected artist panel representing the Minnesota visual arts community selects fellow artists to exhibit their work at the museum. All artists who live and work in Minnesota are welcome to participate: submitting exhibition proposals for panel review, nominating and electing artist panelists, and attending the MAEP’s annual meeting. The work presents contemporary art within the context of an encyclopedic art museum, inserting the state’s artists into a broader discourse about history, art, and culture. The program has featured solo and group shows, site-specific installations, retrospectives, and the once-every-decade “Foot in the Door” exhibitions and has often been the first major exposure for artists who have gone on to critical and commercial success.
Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council, Southern Minnesota (9 county region) 2011 – 2017, Executive Board Secretary (Summer 2013 – 2014), Vice President (Summer 2014 – 2015), President (Summer 2015 – Summer 2017)
The Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council is one of eleven regional arts councils in Minnesota committed to supporting, nurturing, and expanding the arts by providing promotional, technical, and developmental assistance, policy-making, and grants to non-profit arts organizations, community groups, schools, and individual artists. Supported via Minnesota tax revenue it provided over $550,000 annually to local communities.
